Madagascar: The Director of the Africa Bureau of the American State Department on the move in the Island




A few days after the president Hery Rajaonarimampianina in the United States and his meeting with the Adviser of President Barack Obama, the US administration has dispatched in Madagascar the Director of the Africa bureau of the State Department, Robert Jackson.
 
It is the first visit by an American senior official in the island since 2010.
 
Robert Jackson arrived today should notably meet the newly elected president, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, as well as economic operators and several officials of the Government of Madagascar.
 
The Director of the Africa bureau of the US State Department will also participate in the meeting of this Friday, March 28, 2014 of the international contact group under the auspices of the African Union. Robert Jackson will remain on the Malagasy ground until April 1st, before then moving to the Comoros, Mauritius and Seychelles, according to the newspaper Les Nouvelles of Madagascar
