Madagascar: The Director General of the multilateral investments guarantee agency in displacement in the island




Public figures continue to move to Madagascar. In the wake of the coming of the Assistant Vice-president of the international monetary Fund (IMF), Min Zhu, it is the turn of Michel Wormser, vice-president and general manager of the multilateral investment agency guarantee (MIGA) * to travel on this turn to the island this Monday, July 7, and Tuesday, July 8, 2014.
 
"The visit of Michel Wormser is the sign that the MIGA is willing to support the objectives of development of the country through the promotion of private investment. The aim of this visit is to identify areas in which MIGA can help the country to raise capital for its major projects - particularly in the sectors of energy, transport, tourism and agro-industry - and to identify other economic activities creating of jobs that contribute to the achievement of the objectives of development of Madagascar", announce the insistence of the World Bank.
 
"MIGA is here to assist in the return of investors in Madagascar. Private investors have a key role to play in job creation and acceleration of the growth of the country," also said Michel Wormser.
 
The latter will go to meet several members of the Malagasy Government, representatives of the banking sector in the island as well as private actors, as reported by the newspaper L'Express of Madagascar.
 
As a reminder, the institution has already helped private investors in Madagascar during the last years especially in the energy and services sectors.
 
* Member of the Group of the World Bank, the MIGA was set up in 1988 to promote foreign direct investment in emerging economies, promote economic growth, reduce poverty and improve the lives of people.
