Madagascar: The Department of Transport will take action against public transport drivers implicated in fatal accidents




The Malagasy Ministry of Transportation called the motorists to be vigilant in their movement while the year-end holiday season could again cast a pall over the roads of Madagascar.

Since the beginning of December 6 fatal accidents were recorded and have made 14 dead and more than fifty injured, some seriously affected. According to local authorities, excessive speed and technical problems would be mainly responsible for road safety on the Island.

The Department of Transportation has recently decided to be more sever towards public transport drivers responsible for an accident in suspend temporarily or permanently depending on the case their license to transport passengers.
