Madagascar: Ten Malagasy fishermen recovered unharmed by French soldiers on the island of Juan de Nova after the stranding of their vessel
Ten Malagasy fishermen who were aboard a boat whose engine broke down with gasoline, were rescued, Saturday afternoon, by French soldiers from the base of Juan de Nova, located three kilometers long to the West of the island, after the stranding of their vessel.

The fishing vessel was drifted for nearly two days and the lack of water and food were sorely feel on board.
Malagasy fishermen sailed along on the currents when they saw in the far the outline of the Juan de Nova Island.

Collected by the French military, the fishermen were inspected by a nurse for a quick checkup that revealed nothing to worry about.

Ten Malagasy fishermen were able to leave the island of Juan de Nova in the evening and resume the sea after making the stock of food, survival blankets, batteries and fuel, as relates the newspaper L'Express of Madagascar.
