Madagascar: TNT officially launched on June 17, Nosy Be pilot digital territory

The passage from analog to digital in the wake of the implementation of digital terrestrial television (DTT) in Madagascar will become effective in the Island as from 17 June, as imposed the instances of the International Union of telecommunications (ITU).
The coastal island Nosy Be in the North West of the Island has been selected as pilot digital territory by the Ministry of Telecommunications.
The Malagasy authorities and will require more than 100 million dollars to deploy digital terrestrial television across the entire territory of Madagascar. Thus, between 30 and 45 million must be found to different digital equipment, and 50 million dollars to the digitization of broadcasts and 60 million dollars for the specific decoders.
