Madagascar: Strengthening economic and commercial ties between South Africa and the island




 
Relations between the South Africa and Madagascar grow again in the wake of the return of the constitutional order in the island, after five years of the Transition Plan.
 
The creation in late last week of the new Chamber of Commerce and the South Africa - Madagascar industry (MASACCI) is thus the perfect illustration to boost economic and commercial ties between the two countries.
 
A roomful of guests and diplomats, to the sides of the Ambassador of South Africa in Madagascar, and Malagasy Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Mines, and trade of Madagascar celebrated as it should the event, as indicated in the Midi Madagasikara newspaper.

"It is about to strengthen economic ties and trade between two countries geographically close and have also the advantage of being both members of SADC (Editor's Note: Southern African development community)..." It is an excellent opportunity for Madagascar to develop its economy by trade, agriculture, livestock, mineral wealth, and tourism, areas in which South Africa has already a great experience,"said Malagasy Minister of trade, Olga Ramalason.
