Madagascar: Spectacular escape through the roof of a detainee in police custody
An inmate suspected of theft and fraud managed to escape from the police barracks of Diego Suarez in northern Madagascar.

Placed in custody in a cell, the man has parted company with his guards last weekend during the night.

The escapee had only to lift a metal roof, push the fence and remove a brick wall to get outside quickly.

"The gendarme guard sank into sleep after 23 h, and therefore did not hear anything", issued as a hypothesis, the company commander of the gendarmerie of Diego Suarez to explain the spectacular escape.

Thirteen other fellow prisoners who were in the same cell could not take advantage of the opportunity to escape and also say they have not seen or heard anything.

The escapee is still actively sought by the police of Diego Suarez.
