Madagascar: Security measures strengthened in Tananarive after the explosion of homemade bombs in the capital
The security forces (gendarmerie and police) patrols and random checks will be strengthened in the capital Tananarive after two explosions of homemade bombs last week (Wednesday and Friday) and the discovery of an explosive device, last Thursday defused in time before the French Institute of Madagascar.

The first explosion which damaged a hotel was claimed by a mysterious group calling itself "defenders of national sovereignty".

"The third bomb was thrown by people on two scooters according to witnesses", said Colonel Florens Rakotomahanina, Commander of the regional district of the national gendarmerie in Tananarive.

All scooter drivers and their passengers taking the direction of the capital will be controlled, as indicated by the tananews.com site.

According to Colonel Florens Rakotomahanina, design of explosive would be similar to that of homemade bombs made in 2009 and 2010 by a dozen people who were detained, before being freed and amnestied.
