Madagascar: Prime Minister Roger Kolo admit the powerlessness of the authorities against the bubonic plague

While the World Health Organisation (WHO) had called the people of Madagascar to be vigilant in the wake of a possible spread of the plague in the capital Tananarive, the Malagasy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Roger Kolo, mentioned to the press the powerlessness of the authorities against the deadly contagious disease.

"We must not delude ourselves. The plague is endemic and cannot be eradicated. Explain to the Malagasy it is not only in Madagascar that there is this disease. It exists in other African countries ... ", recently said Roger Kolo.

In the last mid-November, 119 cases and 40 deaths were registered on the Island, including two cases and one death in Tananarive.
