Madagascar : President Rajaonarimampianina vows to fight against corruption

The swearing-in ceremony of Hery Rajaonarimampianina, new President of the Republic of Madagascar was held yesterday at the municipal stadium Mahamasina, in Antanananarivo. Nearly 70 foreign personalities which included presidents of Seychelles, Mauritius, Comoros and Namibia as well as Ministers of Foreign Affairs and representatives of international organisations were present at the ceremony.

Hery Rajaonarimampianina wants to be the president for all the Malagasy people and called for national unity. In his speech, he expressed his commitment to fight against corruption. The new president also announced his policy to reach out to his opponents.

The swearing-in ceremony of Madagascar new President was followed by a concert as well as a cocktail, offered to the guests.
