Madagascar: Oysters breeding in the South East of the Island




Oysters now growing up in the Malagasy waters of the Fort-Dauphin region in a lagoon in the southeast of the Island and sheltered the surf. High-quality oysters and respectable class according to connoisseurs of this sea product from highly appreciated by gourmets.
 
A cooperation project with the Brittany region which allowed in August 2013 from two tons of oysters and ten tons at the end of 10 months, to consider at present a local production of 15 tons by the year next to the Anosy oysters.
 
The price of a dozen of these oysters of Anosy is sold at around 18,000 to 24,000 ariarys * depending on the size of the marine mollusk.
