Madagascar: Meeting between Hery Rajaonarimampianina and Andry Rajoelina

In the wake of formalizing the results of the first ballot of the presidential elections in Madagascar on Friday by the Special Electoral Court (CES), Hery Rajaonarimampianina came in second behind Jean-Louis Robinson (15.85%) behind Jean Louis Robinson (21.16%) went to pay a visit to Andry Rajoelina to Ambohitsorohitra palace in Tananarive.

"It was I who took the initiative to meet the president Andry Rajoelina. I'm here because he is the President of the Transition ... He is also the leader of the popular struggle of 2009. We discussed fact that I join in this fight, and all the struggles of the Malagasy people, to eradicate all forms of injustice elsewhere. I am determined to carry the torch of change and development of the country "said Hery Rajaonarimampianina, at the end of the meeting more than an hour with the President of the Transition, as shown in the newspaper L'Express of Madagascar.

As a reminder, while the President of the Transition in Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina, had announced on November 9 in the newspaper Le Monde officially support Hery Rajaonarimampianina for the second round of the Malagasy presidential election, December 20, relations between the two men did not appear to be all set.

Hery Rajaonarimampianina, the former Minister of finance appeared to be bothered by such support that violated the election rules, according to some because the President of the Transition, Andry Rajoelina, as the other members of the Government, cannot lawfully be determined officially for one of the candidates.
