Madagascar: Malagasy adolescents increasingly addicted to cigarettes
According to the latest figures published by the national Office of tobacco control of Madagascar (OFNALAT), tobacco consumption is experiencing a worrying rise in young smokers.

20% of adolescents aged between 13 and 15 years are thus addicted to nicotine for several years and according to officials of tobacco control, if nothing is done at the national level to curb the phenomenon, this rate could increase by more than 10% in the medium term.

For Dr. Jacques Mampianinarisoa, director of OFNALAT "industries should certainly not make social actions or referrals, since they produce only poison", as related by the site midi madagasikara.mg.
