Madagascar: Malagasy Government members have all submitted their mandatory declaration of assets

All the 31 members of the Government of Roger Kolo declared their heritage with the anti-corruption independent Office (BIANCO) before the deadline of July 18.
According to a text of law of 2004 and bearing on the fight against corruption in the island, the politicians and senior Malagasy officials must imperatively within three months after their appointment or taking office, submit to the BIANCO a sincere statement detailing their heritage, as well as their spouse and child (minor (s).
The Act includes the Prime Minister and members of the Government, the senators and deputies, members of the Constitutional High Court, the Governors of autonomous provinces, heads of regions, mayors, magistrates as well as military commanders.
Any person subject to this declaration of assets is punishable by a term of imprisonment of 6 months to 5 years and a fine of 10 to 40 million ariary * if he does not submit to this regulatory requirement, or voluntarily performs incomplete declaration, inaccurate or false, as shown in the Midi Madagasikara newspaper.
* One euro roughly equivalent to 3,297 ariary
