Madagascar: Japan officially recognises the Government of Roger Kolo




After France, the European Union, the African Union and the United States, Japan has recently officially recognised the new Malagasy Government of Prime Minister Roger Kolo made a week ago.
"Since the formation of the new Government of Madagascar on Friday, April 18, the Japan has officially triggered the process for the resumption of the cooperation for the development of the island", said Ambassador of Japan in the island, Ryuhei Hosoya, when signing a funding agreement of 2 million dollars between the Japan and FAO * in the context of the triennial program of fight against the locust invasion in Madagascar as reported by the Midi Madagasikara newspaper.
 
"A sum of about 17 million dollars, in the form of bilateral grants for budget support, is already available for the achievement of socio-economic projects for emergency," said Japanese Ambassador Ryuhei Hosoya also.
