Madagascar: International experts of UNIDO at the bedside of the Malagasy crafts




International experts from the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) will soon visit in southern Madagascar.
 
Their displacement in this region of the island follows the signing of an agreement between UNIDO and UNDP (United Nations development program) in the wake of the Malagasy crafts industry promotion, as the newspaper L'Express of Madagascar.
 
"A parsing strings values, combined in the creation of products, in inspired by the cultural heritage and Malagasy know-how and by targeting high-growth markets will be undertaken as part of this project", said a release issued by the bodies of UNDP.
 
As a reminder, the craft in Madagascar sector generated in 2013 a turnover in value added of 13.375.455 euros, or 10% of the GDP of the island.
 
An efficient sector while the country experienced five years of political and institutional crisis which have strongly impacted the Malagasy economy.
