Madagascar: Hery Rajaonarimampianina does not exclude a return of Marc Ravalomanana in the island

The new Malagasy president Hery Rajaonarimampianinawho will be invested in Tananarive on Saturday after a handover as from tomorrow with the President of the Transition regime, Andry Rajoelina does not exclude in the wake of the amnesty law the return to Madagascar of the former president, Marc Ravalomanana, who had supported his opponent Jean-Louis Robinson during the presidential election.

"Who can it exclude? A Madagascan always has the right to move around, to return to his own country," said Hery Rajaonarimampianina invited to speak on the issue by Radio France Internationale.

Hery Rajaonarimampianina nevertheless recognises that his current priority "are the 20 million Malagasy".

As a reminder, the former president Marc Ravalomanana deposed in 2009, after being overthrown by the coup d'état led by Andry Rajoelina, went into exile in South Africa.

Thus, for months Marc Ravalomanana has repeatedly called for his return to Madagascar.
