Madagascar: Growing insecurity on the part of young offenders, the foroches in the heart of Diego Suarez
Since the political crisis of 2009, Diego Suarez, city in Northern Madagascar, has been hit hard by unprecedented urban violence with youth gangs who terrorize the local population.
 
Young adolescents locally called "foroches" continues in the heart of the city, throwing stones between rival gangs and commit acts of delinquency.
Last Tuesday, the "foroches" even killed a person in the neighborhood of Tsaramandroso and many foroches are now attacking since recent weeks, Malagasy police to prove their strength.

Since the beginning of Ramadan, assaults with knives and have multiplied in the streets around the mosque of Ambao with foroches wearing jellabas and concealing knives to attack passersby.

47 "foroches" since the beginning of 2013 were arrested and the vast majority has been sentenced, according to figures given by the police of the city of Diego Suarez, as indicated by the newspaper The Express of Madagascar.
