Madagascar: Electricity outages affecting 80 Malagasy cities




According to the World Bank, Madagascar is subject to an average of 624 hours of load shedding of electricity per year that is, 26 days in total.
 
Load shedding occur on average 8 hours, and this, about 78 times each year in the wake of the financial difficulties of the Jirama in charge of serving the public network.
 
The Minister Energy Richard Fienena, recently recalled that 80 cities would be affected by these rolling blackouts, as reported by the Tananews site.
 
As a reminder, the Jirama would accuse a loss of some 400 megawatts each month.
