Madagascar: Decline in tourist arrivals for the year 2013

According to the latest figures published by the Ministry of tourism of Madagascar, tourist numbers in the island has fallen by more than 20%.
198.816 tourists have visited Madagascar in 2013 against 255.942 travelers recorded the previous year, as reported by the newspaper Les Nouvelles of Madagascar.
As a reminder, the new President Hery Rajaonarimampianina, upon his arrival to the supreme office of the country, fixes to officials of the national Office of tourism of Madagascar (ONTM) to achieve in a year and a half the 400,000 tourists and thus regain the level of tourist visits dating back to 2008.
