Madagascar: Concern about the planned closure of the consulate of Diego Suarez
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs is considering the closure of several consulates of Madagascar in several major cities.

The Consulate located in Diego Suarez at the northern tip of the Big Island may be the cost of the next reorganization consular post to Madagascar, initiated from the Quai d'Orsay in Paris. Many French citizens are totally opposed to the proposed restructuring, due to the remoteness of Diego Suarez relative to Tananarive.

The new Ambassador of France to Madagascar, François Goldblatt, and the Consul General Laurent Polonceaux met last Tuesday, their compatriots in a hotel to discuss the situation closures of the consulates in Madagascar, as related lexpressmada.com.

The two diplomats have assured they are doing everything possible to ensure that the consulate Diego Suarez is spared and nothing has yet been officially recorded permanently. "I take the risk to say that even if it is not won yet, there is a favorable hope ... Know one thing with me, you will have someone who will say and speak the language of truth. Though it is difficult, I do not cheat you", said the ambassador of France in Great Island, François Goldblatt.
