Madagascar Communal elections: No independent observers dispatched by the international community

While the communal and municipal elections in Madagascar will take place Friday, July 31, 2015, the international community has decided not deployed in the field independent observers to ensure the proper conduct of the election. The organizations of civil society of the country will nevertheless ensure this election monitoring mission in the country.

1,689 communes are thus counted in the Island, 140 new communities established since the end of January 2015.

As a reminder, the National Independent Electoral Commission of transition (CENI-T) estimated in late March that the operational budget for the holding of the municipal poll should be close to 10 million dollars.
