The Canadian authorities recently allocated 6.4 million US dollars - about 14 billion ariarys * - for the funding of school lunches in Madagascar under the World Food Program (WFP).

This allocation will thus enable students to benefit from Malagasy meal over a period of two years, as reports by the online newspaper orange.mg.

As a reminder, 1.6 million children in Madagascar left at an early stage the school benches, because their parents due to lack of resources could no longer pay the vested fees of the school canteen in Madagascar.

* One euro roughly equivalent to 3.421 ariarys.
