A manufacturer of weapons was arrested last Sunday in Tanjombato in southern region of Tananarive by the gendarmes.

Several automatic pistols already assembled were seized in his sweatshop.

The alleged suspect was selling automatic pistols hand crafted at 100,000 ariarys (32.61 euros) each.

Five individuals (sellers and buyers) were also arrested in the case.

The gendarmes have succeeded in updating the sales network of weapons after arresting a violent husband who shot with an automatic pistol on a passer-by who sought to protect the wife beaten in the street.

After questioning, the man explained to military the provenance of the weapon which he held.

According to the police, other suspects are still actively sought, according to the newspaper L'Express of Madagascar.
