Madagascar: Andry Rajoelina refuses to withdraw from the presidential poll
While the scenario of crisis of the international group of contact for Madagascar (ICG - M), composed of representatives of the southern Africa development community (SADC) and the African Union (AU), requires the withdrawal without condition of Andry Rajoelina, Lalao Ravalomanana and Didier Ratsiraka, the president of Transition, Andry Rajoelina, has announced clearly that the withdrawal "will not occur" and that he is still a candidate of the Malagasy presidency.

A statement to the journalists which occurred last Monday, August 12, on the sidelines of the swearing in of the new members of the Special Electoral Court (CES) at the Palace of the Supreme Court of Anosy in Tananarive.

"The requirement for a leader is to always respond to popular aspirations, especially today, Madagascar needs an elected leader. It is his duty to seek all means to make the actual elections", also said Andry Rajoelina, to justify its recent political past acts, which seemed yet suggest a possible withdrawal of the controversial application, including the recent draft ordinance of the Council of Ministers for a voluntary withdrawal of candidates for the presidential election.

"We do not act to satisfy the desire of the international community, but to respond to the desire of the Malagasy", said Andry Rajoelina, as relates the lexpressmada.com site.
