The commune of Ambanja located north of Madagascar, in the region of Diana, province of Diego Suarez was offered a truck fire fighting by an association based in Normandy composed of professional firemen and volunteers as well as other personnel of the SDIS.

The association has also trained forty local firemen so that they may now be operating in relief in a city often engulfed in flames, with many fires that erupted in recent years without fire station.

An untenable situation for the municipal authorities decided last year to sign an agreement of partnership with the Fire brigade humanitarian from Normandy-France (PHN), to address the critical shortage of means of firefighting in the town of Ambanja.

"In November 2012, six members of PHN went home to start the first mission ... and formed our 43 firefighters who consist currently the company of firefighters of Ambanja" proudly relates Fety Jaovanona, mayor of the municipality of Ambanja to the site lexpressmada.com.
