Madagascar: A viral conjunctivitis epidemic hits the regions of Tananarive and Tamatave




After Mauritius and Reunion, it was the turn of Madagascar to be affected by an epidemic of viral conjunctivitis. *
 
Some 8,000 patients were identified thus in the regions of Tananarive and Tamatave. From March 31 to April 16, 3500 cases have been identified in health centers of the Island.
 
Contagious disease, but more often benign, conjunctivitis is treated within a few days of medication treatment.
 
* Infection of the transparent membrane of the eye
