Madagascar: A retired general shot dead while trying to intervene in a robbery in Tananarive
The retired general, Denis Robert Rakotoherisolo, was killed in cold blood, this weekend, by several armed men with Kalashnikovs, while trying to intervene in a double armed robbery of grocery stores at Ankaraobato in the outskirts of the Madagascan capital Tananarive.
 
From the second class of the Military Academy, the general died abruptly at age 67by trying weapon in hand, to block the road to four robbers.
 
Before asserting his rights to retirement, Denis Robert Rakotoherisolo, served as chief of police in Mahajanga and commander of the first regiment of intervention forces (RFI) at Ivato.
 
His last post dated back to before the political crisis of 2009, when he was appointed Secretary of Defense with the prime minister, as indicated lexpressmada.com.
