Madagascar: A general census of the population by 2015-2016

The third general census in Madagascar, of which the last date of 1993, should be carried out in 2015-2016.
Some thirty technical executives of the National Institute of Statistics of Madagascar (INSTAT) are thus undergoing training of census cartography provided in Tananarive by the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (FNUAP).

According to the latest demographic projections, the population of the island is valued at some 22.5 million inhabitants, as reported by the Madagascar Tribune newspaper.

As a reminder, in 2003 the census programmed in the Island could not be performed due to a lack of financial means of the Malagasy authorities.
