Madagascar: A dozen of bank robbers armed with Kalashnikovs pushed back by stone-throwing of traders
The Andriantany-Ambohi­dratrimo locality in the North-West of the Malagasy capital Tananarive has been shaken during the night of Thursday to Friday last in the assault of a dozen of criminals armed with Kalashnikovs as well as cutting weapons and operating without hoods.

Criminals broke in two shops to steal money contained in the boxes.

But the two owners did not remain passive and were able to rout their attackers by throwing stones at them.

Surprised by this fierce defense with a rain of projectiles fell on their heads, the ten criminal turned back opened fire with heavy weapons to cover their hasty flight, before the arrival of police alerted and hurried to the scene.

Actively wanted criminals were however able to lay hand on a small part of the revenue from shops, over 230,000 ariary (75 euros), according to the newspaper L'Express of Madagascar
