Madagascar: 14 zebu thieves killed in a violent confrontation of several hours with gendarmes
Monday, the village of Soaloka Miandri­vazo, in the centre west of the island, has been the scene of a violent confrontation that lasted almost ten hours between thieves of zebus armed with shotguns and Malagasy gendarmes.

14 thieves of zebus (dahalo) were shot by security forces. 
                                                                         
Three villagers, including two mercenaries paid by the village community to protect cattle herds and which lend hand to the gendarmes, were killed.

250 zebu stolen were recovered by the police, as indicated by the newspaper L'Express of Madagascar.
