Madagascar: 1,000 elements of the security forces in the South of the island sent to fight against thieves of zebus

To face growing insecurity prevailing in southern Madagascar from recent weeks and abuses by the thieves of zebus locally known as dahalo, the Malagasy Government has decided the massive deployment of thousands of elements of the security forces to secure the entire region of the southern Madagascar.
The Prime Minister Kolo Roger officially launched last weekend in Tuléar the operation called "Coup d'arrêt" by the Malagasy authorities.
The tenant of the Palace of Mahazorivo was especially accompanied by the Minister of public safety, Blaise Richard Randimbisoa, Minister of public service, Jean de Dieu Maharante and the Secretary of State in charge of the national gendarmerie, major general Didier Gérard Paza, as reported by the Midi Madagasikara newspaper.
As a reminder, the flight of Zebu comes from ancient Malagasy, but still well-established traditions in the hinterland. Symbol of virility before marriage, criminal gangs turned away from its meaning first, to transform it into a juicy traffic.
