The conversations between the two figures focused on the organisation of the Summit of La Francophonie in Madagascar. Mr. Philippe Beaulne said: “We were delighted to meet the President to discuss the upcoming Summit as it will be a great success for Madagascar and for francophonie. Many measures have been put into place, according to the President, who has informed us of the various advances that have been made, both in terms of the practical and organisational preparations and in terms of the content. We also had the opportunity to speak with the various teams. We discussed collaboration and the ways in which Canada might be able to help with the cooperation of the other member countries of the IOF (International Organisation of La Francophonie). Canada can help in various areas, such as Protocol, Logistics and Security.”
