Comoros: The number of people killed on the roads increased in recent weeks, law enforcement mobilised

While the number of accidents had declined on the roads of the archipelago, the number of people killed has grown in recent weeks.

Excessive speed and impracticable network are the main causes of accidents in the Comoros.

Drivers give signs of "negligence" as a police officer in the Comoros.

"A lot of silly things happens on the road. Men find themselves crowded into vehicles. Drivers should think about their passengers," also highlighted the substitute of the Public Prosecutor, as reported by the La Gazette des Comores newspaper.

The law enforcement have decided to be more present on the ground to stop the road carnage.

Police and gendarmes will thus be mobilised on the roads as from Wednesday, November 5 for stricter controls on the main roads.
