At the end of last week, Comorian president Ikililou Dhoinine has officially launched at a ceremony the new central buying of drugs of the Union of Comoros (CAMUC) created in associative form and which replaced the autonomous national pharmacy of the deficit (PNAC) archipelago.

"France has brought 1.5 million euros, or 750 million Comorian francs, to support this new structure", including the Ambassador of France in Moroni, Philippe Lacoste, present this during the official launch ceremony, as shown in the newspaper La Gazette des Comores.

"The new structure took time to start while expectations were too high. But we must take precautions," stressed the Ambassador of France in Moroni.

The new central purchasing of drugs of the archipelago enjoys an annual budget of one billion Comorian francs (2.032.801 euros) and already has in its 80% of pharmaceuticals stocks.

The new Director of the CAMUC, Kamal Abdoulwahab, must gradually lower drug prices, ensure a regular delivery in health facilities, combat the illicit sale of drugs and develop storage capacities, as it undertook to do so publicly.
