Comoros: Solar energy to supply electricity to the archipelago
Engineers from India recently moved to the Comoros to study the feasibility in the archipelago of a solar energy development project.

The project put forward by the Comorian businessman Omar Mouhssine, should eventually compensate the public company Ma-Mwe, over the management and distribution of electricity in the Comoros and which experience for months recurring problems of significant outages on its network.

Seven power stations equipped with four solar panels should be constructed with production totalling some 55 megawatts.

Two centers for the production of solar energy should be including operational February 2015 horizon. 9 megawatts will be thus made available to the network for an assessed cost 600 million Comorian francs, or more than 1.2 million euros, as reported by the online newspaper Mayotte Hebdo.
