Comoros: Serious water shortage in Ramadan in several regions of Grande Comore, as reason of a significant drought
While the period of Ramadan is not over yet for Muslims who constitute 98% of the inhabitants of the archipelago in the regions of Dimani, Oichili and Mboudé were hit hard by a severe drought that has lasted several months.

The chairman of the meeting of the Comoros, Bourhane Hamidou, has traveled in the month of July in the three regions of Grande Comore where water scarcity becomes an issue for local people totally destitute face to the situation.

The water tankers sales are expensive and lead the vast majority of people not being able to refuel.
The chairman of the meeting of the Comoros thus wrote on 23 July 2013 to the President of Comoros, Ikililou Dhoinine to urgently intervene in this priority issue to avoid a "humanitarian disaster".

Bourhane Hamidou advocates the rapid deployment in the field of assistance operations, with a permanent device supervised by the army, to supply water to the massive suffering populations, as indicated by the habarizacomores.com site.
