Comoros: Sanitary measures strengthened at the international airport, Prince Saïd Ibrahim of Moroni to fight against the haemorrhagic fever Ebola

The Comorian authorities have decided to strengthen sanitary measures at international airport Prince Said Ibrahim of Moroni against the possibility of a spread of the haemorrhagic fever Ebola which hit hard the African West.

An advanced medical center has thus been opened last weekend in the heart of the airport located on Grande Comore.

“We are obliged to do so now in light of the situation prevailing at the global level... The Comoros archipelago is classified among the countries of the Indian Ocean at low risk. This is due to the distance, but also because it has no land borders with affected countries", said Rosa Maria Soares Da Silva, representative of the World Health Organisation in the Comoros.

The port of Moroni should also soon receive the same type of medical structure, as reported by the newspaper La Gazette des Comores.
