The laying of the first stone of the New City Hall of Moroni in Comoros took place earlier this week.

The work should last 8 months and cost 70 million Comorian francs (142,662 euros) funded by the governorate authorities of the island of Grande Comore.

The Governor of the Island, Terrell Baraka, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Interior, the Mayor of Moroni, Laissi Ben Ali, and also the former president of the Union of the Comoros, Azali Assoumani, had moved for the occasion.

The Mayor of Moroni, Laissi Ben Ali, particularly welcomed that the construction of the new building be undertaken in the city center, instead of the former police station and not on the outskirts as was mentioned time, as relates the La Gazette des Comores newspaper.
