Comoros: European Union grants more than 1.7 million euros for the rehabilitation of 80% of the roads in the archipelago
The European Union awarded the Comorian authorities funding 1.786.592 (879 million Comorian francs), to the title of the tenth European Development (EDF) and Fund in the context of the program of support to the sustainable development of the sector of transport (PADDST).

This allotment will be invested in the rehabilitation of more than 80% of the road network in the Comoros.

The start of the official work was officially launched on 19 September in Ntsaoueni in the district of Mboudéin northern Grande Comore, in the presence of Vice-President in charge of the Ministry of Planning, Infrastructure and Urbanism as well as the Ambassador of France to Moroni, Philipe Lacoste.

"These operations consist primarily of the spot repair (plugging potholes, resurfacing shoulders, repair pits) of the floor, but also drainage and sanitation", said Philippe Lacoste, Ambassador of France in Moroni.

The work will thus concern in Grande Comore 320 kilometers of bitumen, Anjouan 177 km, and Moheli near 69 kilometers of road, as relates the lagazettedescomores.com site.
