Comoros: Arrest of 19 Shiite whose doctrine is prohibited by Presidential Decree

The town of Mutsamudu was the theater of the arrest of 19 Shi'ites as they were preparing to celebrate religiously, last Friday, a ceremony rhythm to the holy month the birth of the Prophet Mohammed.
 
Accused of practicing and propagating the Shia doctrine in Comoros, they were arrested by the police and brought to the Prosecutor on Monday for "undermining the social cohesion."

The President of the Republic of Comoros, Ikililou has therefore promulgated on 8 January, a law by decree that regulates Islam in the archipelago. Only the Sunni doctrine is thus authorized and any other religious practice, like Shiism is now banned in the Comoros.
 
The religious and Shiite worshipers who do not respect the law incur a prison sentences and heavy fines.
