Comoros: A delegation of Directors of the African Development Bank stayed several days in the heart of the archipelago




A delegation of nine representatives of the African Development Bank (ADB) stayed in the archipelago of the Comoros from February 24 to March 1.
 
This official trip is the first displacement to the Comoros to directors of the BAD since the resumption of cooperation with the Pan-African institution in 2009.
 
Directors of the African Development Bank were met including Comorian president Ikililou Dhoinine, and the vice-president in charge of finance, Mohamed Ali Soilihi, the representatives of the Executive power of the islands of Moheli and Anjouan.
 
Many actors of the economic life and the Comorian civil society could also could speak with the delegation from the BAD.
"It is a strong signal ... This means that our country has regained credibility with the African family. We remember that 17 years our country no longer had access to loans from the African Development Bank", recalled the vice-president in charge of finance, Mohamed Ali Soilihi, at a time when the Comoros were "unable to pay their external debt".
 
As a reminder, in November 2013, the African Development Bank and the Government of the Comoros signed a financing agreement, of order 8 billion Comorian francs (16.247.798 euros), for the development of the sector, and energy of the Comoros, as part of a program of support to States considered fragile, as reported in the Alwatwan newspaper.
