Comoros: 13% of women and 24% of men disclose reading at least once a week a local newspaper or magazine




While the Comoros archipelago prepares for national press conferences, a recent survey published in June 2014 revealed that nearly two in five (38%) women and one man in five (21%) do not watch TV nor listen to the radio at least once a week.
 
On the other hand, television remains the preferred media of the Comorian population, with 52% of women and about 68% of men who watch television at least once a week.
 
Then follows the radio which collects 37% and 61% of listenership with respectively of women and the male sex of the archipelago.
 
The written press for its part attracts a small readership, with only 13% of women and 24% of men who acknowledge reading at least once a week a local newspaper or magazine.
 
The survey was conducted among Comorian aged between 15 and 49 years and in 4482 households interviewed, as reported by the Comorian newspaper Alwatwan.
