Alain St ANGE after Taleb RIFAI?

Taleb Rafaï, who has been the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) since 2009, has announced that he will not stand for re-election in 2017.
This announcement has thrown the race wide open, and Rafaï could be succeeded by any of several candidates.
Among the names being mentioned as potential successors are Gloria Guevara Manzo from Mexico, Carlos Vogeler who currently works at the UNWTO, and one of his colleagues Favilla Lucca de Paula. Also in the running are Walter Mzembir, the Zimbabwean Minister of Tourism, Xu Ling, the Director of the Asia-Pacific Region at the UNWTO, and Alain St Ange, the Minister of Tourism for the Seychelles.

Although, of course, each candidate stands a chance of election, Minister St Ange is our very favourite. Several years ago, he participated in the creation of the Vanilla Islands, his knowledge of the tourism industry is second-to-none, and he has a very strong personality.
Knowing what he has been able to do for the Seychelles, in terms of results and reputation, we believe that he is the perfect candidate to be Taleb Rafaï’s successor.
We unreservedly support his candidature.
