100 deaths on the roads of Mauritius

100 people have been killed on the roads of Mauritius from 1 January to 16 September.

Motorcyclists or passengers of two-wheelers along with pedestrians have paid such a heavy price for the carnage while 94 people had lost their lives on the same calendar period in 2014.

137 people died on the Mauritian roads last year against 136 deaths in 2013. The main cause of fatal accidents in Mauritius remains excessive speed on the part of drivers.
